"What Was it Like...When You Came to this Church?" A Potluck Dinner to Share our History

Four years ago we celebrated the 300th Anniversary of the founding of this church with the motto "300 Years: A Foundation for the Future."  And we started a visioning process for what that future would look like.  We've created a new church leadership structure with the Church Council and we've almost got a new accessible church entrance.

It's time to look again to the future!

In order to do that, it's wise to look at our recent past, the last 50 years or so, to see how we got to where we are today and how our memories shape our future.  Your memories of being part of this church help in that process.

We invite you to join us Saturday, June 2, at 5:00PM in the Parish House for lots of laughter, and a pot luck supper to share memories of what's happened in our own lives here from yesterday to 50 years ago!  So here are some "memory joggers" to get you thinking about what to share:

What was it like...

...To come to Sunday School?

...To sit in the choir loft?

...to care for these buildings?

...to sit in the pews?

...to prepare food in the kitchen?

The first person I met when I came here was...

The 'characters of the congregation' were/are...

The most unusual sermon or worship service was...

I laughed until I cried when...

The special event or fund raiser that stands out in my mind is...

My faith grew with the experience of...

I felt the presence of God when...

The memories I would like my grandchildren to have of what this church did in the next 50 years are...
