AMIGOS
It¡¯s that time again! The 2012 AMIGOS campaign will kickoff on Sunday, February 26 at 2:00pm at Alfred Parish Church. This year, there have been some changes to the menu that will make it more nutritional and also cost less. Your York Association Mission Committee hopes every church will be represented by their AMIGOS coordinator or representative at this meeting. There, we will give each church this year¡¯s packet containing a promotional CD, paper and electronic copies of this year¡¯s brochure, new bucket packing instructions and a sample package of SMALL RED BEANS. Your representative(s) at the meeting will learn what the beans are all about and all the other details of this year's campaign. We hope to see each church represented there!
We¡¯ve already had a couple of people say they¡¯d like to be a part of a team to make this happen. If you¡¯d like to join them, please contact Rev. Jeff!
End 68 Hours of Hunger
It’s coming to Kittery—soon! For more information go to www.end68hoursofhunger.org. To be a part of this important movement to ensure all of our children in Kittery are adequately fed, contact Pauli Rines, Kris Lynes, or the church office.
Faith-Sharing Group
With the start of Lent approaching on February 22nd, we¡¯re beginning to look ahead to our Lenten series. This year we will be holding a faith-sharing group. The sole purpose of this group is to allow us all to share the stories of our lives and faith (in a safe and non-judgmental setting), so that we may get to know each other better, and hopefully better understand how God has been at work in our lives. This group promises to be a powerful experience for all those who take part in it. The group will meet on the six Mondays of Lent, but we have not yet set a time. If you¡¯re interested in being a part of this group, contact Harry Lowell at
Planning waaaaay ahead . . . .
Vacation Bible School will be held this year, again, in conjunction with the First Congregational Church of Eliot. It will run from July 9-13, 2012 in the morning. Save the date and stay tuned for more information!
Footprints Food Pantry
Our wonderful church community which has so strongly and continuously supported Footprints, our local food bank, is cordially invited to visit the place "where it all happens!" The best time to visit is on Tuesdays between 9 and 11 am. Barbara Fernald, the director, is there along with other volunteers stocking the shelves, making packages (portions) of various foods for our clients, and, in general, getting ready for Wednesday when we fill orders for our clients from 10 am to 1 pm. We are currently serving over 80 families/week varying from 1 person to 8 people. Footprints is located at the corner of Old Post Rd. and Rte. 103 in Kittery across from Sue’s Seafood. Please visit the site!!!

What is goodsearch.com?
Every week in the MMM you’ve seen a little tag line (above) inviting you to shop and search at goodsearch.com. So what’s this all about? Simply go to goodsearch.com and enter "First Congregational Church of Kittery Point" in as the charity you’re raising money for. Then, each time you use goodsearch.com to search the web (it’s a Yahoo powered search engine) we receive one penny per search. It doesn’t sound like much, but it adds up quickly. In addition to this, if you do any on line shopping, check goodsearch.com to see if the company you’re shopping with is listed. If so, access that company’s website through goodsearch.com and a portion of your purchase will be donated to the church.
And, in addition to this, if you register with goodsearch.com as a supporter of our church we have a chance to raise even more money! If we have at least 10 supporters we have a chance to win $500. If we have the most supporters we’ll win $1,000!
This is a very simple and easy way to raise money for the church. Give it a try today. And if you’re techno-phobic, or run into trouble, email Rev. Jeff for a hand!
