First Congregational Church of Kittery at Kittery Point, United Church of Christ

From the Pastor's Desk . . .

Greetings!

Welcome to the First Congregational Church web site!  We are glad you’ve chosen to visit us, and we welcome you to join us on our faith journey as we seek to do God's work in this world.

First Congregational Church is a United Church of Christ congregation of 250 members, founded in 1714, that is open to all people -- no matter who you are or where you are on life's journey.  We pride ourselves on being a church that is friendly and we seek to welcome all people into our family.  We unite for the worship of God every Sunday at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., and childcare is provided.  Our worship is energetic, faithful, and fun.  Our sermons seek to relate the Bible to real, everyday issues, that people are struggling with.  And we always welcome children.

We have a number of activities for our members and friends to get involved with.  We have a weekly adult Bible study, a Women’s Fellowship group, a morning and evening book discussion group, a summer craft fair, an amazing Christmas Fair, fellowship groups for youth in grades 3-12, and we host a number of other social events throughout the year.

As a church community, we believe that our job is to reach beyond our walls, and so we donate a great deal of time, money, and talents supporting: Footprints food pantry, the Fair Tide Center for Sustainable Living, Bangor Theological Seminary, Traip Academy Scholarship, Pilgrim Lodge camp scholarships, Project Graduation, the Young Organists Collaborative, Kittery Vacation Bible School, Hospice of York, Maine Seacoast Mission, Seafarer's Friend, Kittery Meals on Wheels, the Maine Conference and National body of the United Church of Christ, and many others.

Let me close by saying that it is a pleasure to serve the kind-hearted, friendly, and faithful people of the First Congregational Church of Kittery Point.  We hope you'll stop by some Sunday to join us -- I know you won't regret it.

Wishing you God's peace and blessings,
Rev. Jeff Gallagher
