Church School 2010-2011

Thank you for a wonderful 2009-2010 Church School year!  We'll be starting it all again on Sunday, September 12, 2010, and we want you to join in on the fun! 

This will be our fourth year using the curriculum Power Express.  You can check it out on the web by clicking here.  This curriculum allows our Church School to adopt a Workshop Model Church School for our classes.  This means that we will focus on a particular story for an entire month.  Through that month, our students will be exposed to the story in a variety of ways.  This will enable all of our children -- regardless of what type of learner they are (visual, verbal, etc.) to experience the story in a way that will engage them.

The units we will be focusing on this year are the following:
September -- Seven Helpers
October -- Self-esteem
November -- Gift of Jesus
December -- Church School Christmas Pageant
January -- Building the Tabernacle
February -- Forgiveness
March -- Peacemakers
April -- Breakfast on the Beach
May -- Making Choices
June -- Children's Sunday Preparations

We believe that this will be the most exciting year yet for our Church School and we hope you'll plan to join us this year.  Church School is for all youth from ages 3-13.  The children begin in the sanctuary and then head to Church School at the end of the Children's Sermon (approximately 20 minutes into the service).  We also have nursery care available, every Sunday, for our youngest members not old enough for Church School yet.
